William G. Nyanue, President
LUNAR’s current President, William Nyanue, is an accomplished technocrat and community leader. Since 1991, Mr. Nyanue has been working as a Civil Engineer (Hydraulics) for a Chicago-based engineering firm. Prior to joining his present firm, Mr. Nyanue served as Project Engineer and Planning and Development Manager at the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation, Repulic of Liberia, from 1982 to 1990. At the community level, he was an active student leader during his days at the University of Liberia; National President of the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas; Interim President of the Organization of Liberian Community in Illinois; and Chairman of the Program Committee of the All Liberian National Conference held in April 2005 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a member of the American Water Works Association.
A prolific writer, Mr. Nyanue is author of “Witness: The Hand of God in the Liberian Civil War”, published in 2005. He has written several articles on issues related to Liberia and Africa. Mr. Nyanue is recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, and Leadership Award from the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA). He holds a MSc. from the University of Arizona and a BSc. (cum laude) from the University of Liberia.
George E. Weah, Vice President
Mr. George Emmanuel Weah is LUNAR's Current Vice President. He is married
and the father of one beautiful girl. He works as a management
specialist for the Trader Joe’s Company in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
Mr. Weah holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from the Indiana
Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing an MBA from the same
University.
Mr. Weah is an ardent advocate for human rights and social justice for
all Liberians. He has worked with Liberian organizations in Liberia and
the Diaspora. He is currently the political advisor to the President of
the Liberian Association of Indianapolis.
Mr. Weah loves sports, reading, and surfing the internet about events
occurring and obtaining in his home country. Joining LUNAR is another
opportunity for him to play an active role in positively impacting the
lives of his countrymen and women.

Samson B. Toe, General Secretary
Mr. Samson B. Toe is a LUNAR's General Secretary. He is a Transportation Engineer (Civil). He is employed with the California Department of Transportation. Mr. Toe is also the Chairman of the Planning and Strategy Committee of the Association of Citizens and Friends of Liberia in Sacramento, California.
T. Momolu Massaquoi, Treasurer
Mr. T. Momolu Massaquoi is LUNAR’s Treasurer. Mr. Massaquoi is a Banker and is presently employed with PNC Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as Operations Manager.
From 2003 to 2005 he served as President of the Liberian Community Association of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Mr. Massaquoi holds a Msc. degree from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a BA degree from the University of Liberia.
Mydea Reeves-Karpeh, Chairman, SMC
Mrs. Mydea Reeves-Karpeh is LUNAR’s current Chairman of the Special Monitoring Committee. She earlier served as Vice President of LUNAR. She brings
to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience in management,
public administration and community service. Since 1988, Mrs. Karpeh
has been working in the Baltimore Public School system. She has served
as Adult Basic Education Teacher and Special Education/Resource
Teacher. She currently serves as IEP Team Associate.
Earlier in her professional life, Mrs. Karpeh served the Liberian
Government in several capacities, including Senior Development
Specialist in the Liberian Institute of Public Administration; Director
of Personnel, Ministry of Education; and Human Resources Manager,
Liberian Electricity Corporation . She is nationally recognized for her
advocacy work for Liberia, whether in her position as the first female
president of the Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas,
Chairman of the Steering Committee of the All Liberian National
Conference (April, 2005), or Chairman of the Board of Directors, United
Bassa Organizations in the Americas. Mrs. Karpeh, along with many other
Liberians, was instrumental in helping to create the conditions that
led to the dissolution of the Charles Taylor Government through her
testimony before the U.S House of Representatives’ Subcommittee on
Africa. She holds a MPA, University of Southern California, and BA (cum
laude) from the University of Liberia. Mrs. Karpeh is a holder of the
Who’s Who Among American Teacher Award. She is currently working on her
Administrative I certification in the Baltimore City Aspiring Leaders
Program.
